British Values

British Values

Prime 8 Education and our young people follow the five British values.

Democracy

Decisions affecting our learners are discussed as a group through Student Voice. Learners thoughts and ideas are taken into consideration before changes are made wherever possible.

The Rule of Law

Prime 8 Education instils in its learners the need for some rules for both staff and learners. This will help them become responsible young people as they move on from education.

Individual Liberty

Prime 8 Education encourages its young people to be open and honest about what affects them. Our aim to help our learners to be individuals through bespoke timetables.

Mutual Respect

Staff and young people at Prime8 Education are encouraged to respect each other through how they act and speak.

Tolerance of Those of Different Faith or Beliefs and for Those Without Faith.

Prime 8 Education asks its young people to keep an open mind about others beliefs and faiths. This is encouraged through our PSD programme of study and group discussions.

Through-out the year Prime8 Education promotes British Values through the celebration of our history. These have included:

  • St Georges Day
  • St Patricks Day
  • St Andrews Day
  • St Davids Day
  • Guy Fawkes and the gunpowder plot
  • Shrove Tuesday
  • Remembrance Day
  • Easter
  • Christmas

We also learn about celebrations and customs that didn't originate in the UK including:

  • Chinese New Year
  • Diwali
  • Ramadan and Eid-Ul-Fitr
  • Hannukah

Prime8 Education is not the sole educational provider for the young people who attend our setting.
